“Climate and Emergency Care (and Trauma) Systems”
Welcome by Diana W. Bianchi, M.D., NICHD Director
Speaker: Craig Newgard, M.D., M.P.H., Oregon Health & Science University
Abstract: This webinar will focus on emergency care and trauma systems in the context of climate change, including a case study from 2021 and vulnerable aspects of these systems (as highlighted by the pandemic). We will also detail current NICHD-supported research on ED preparedness for children to illustrate the potential synergy in improving the ‘readiness’ of emergency care systems for day-to-day crises, climate effects, disasters, pandemics, and more.
Webinar host: Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD)
PLEASE NOTE: Live closed captioning will be provided during this webinar.
